NEW YORK CITY, United States
The earth does not belong to us;
We belong to the earth.
All things are connected.
What ever befalls the earth
befalls the people of the earth
We did not weave the web of life
We are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do to the web
We do to ourselves.
Chief Seatle 1851
These images have evolved out of a long project where I worked on the subject of Botanicals. This series began as flowers mostly, but as time went on I realized that my interest was the form. I began to emphasize shapes and would arrange the material into whatever I felt represented the unique nature of the chosen subjects. Now I create variations, and enjoy the luminosity of light coming through the subjects. My work centers around finding what is compelling that I have never seen before. I am motivated to satisfy my insatiable curiosity through the unnoticed beauty of nature.
