Jeju Island; Building 104
by Lori C. Brown | 2009
Through metal bars and green cemented roofs
I gaze out into a world, yet, still unknown, but comfortably suited
The haze covers the mountain's news but I do not sit still in awe for them
But for the flatness of the view
Blue tiled rooftops and sectioned squares of grass and land
To the whimsical patterns of lines, which in return, I presume as an onlooker, the drawings of manmade paths
On the 11th floor rooftop a harsh noise of planes fly over me
Mechanical vehicles drive themselves along as if unmoved by resting nature settings
Bugs fling by me, allowing a shivered feeling in my body to live
Buildings are spread out amongst the mist of the island
Smoke from a distance rears its appearance and an oceanic decay smells the region
All I want to do is lay and sleep forever in your dream
But I am too movable for you
Too mutable in this life time
I can't seem to develop the desire of standstills or have to's
The sky is pink with shades of grey
If I could see your face again
I'd say
You were in my dream last night
